Add a Contact

There are several places throughout the system where you can add a contact.

Each of these options opens the short form to add a contact:

The easiest, and best, way to add a contact is the ADD CONTACT button in the top navigation bar.

Using the Short Form

Any of the above options will open the default form, the short form, for adding a contact. This form shows only the recommended minimum contact information needed to get a contact added to your account.

  • How would you address this person? - this field is meant for a nickname populates the salutation in a Thought Leadership email. If your contact doesn't have a nickname, their first name should be used.
  • Email - while not required, we highly recommend adding it if this information is available.
  • What company does this person work for? - if this person is an individual and not with a company choose 'This is an individual' from this list. You can also add a new company, if needed, by simply typing in the company name and selecting 'create new company'.
  • Role(s) - this field s meant to be synonymous with a contact’s job function or department and likely won’t have a match for a contact’s exact title. This field allows users to filter contact lists by job function.

Tip: Required fields have a red asterisk (*). The Add Contact button will not activate until all required fields have been added.

Once the basic contact information has been added, you have the following options:

  1. To create a contact with just this minimum information, fill in the fields and click the green Add Contact button.
  2. If you have multiple contacts to add, click the down arrow next to the green Add Contact button and choose 'Add & Start New' from the drop down menu. This will reset the short form for you.
  3. If you want to add additional information for the contact you are adding (Title, phone, birthday, etc.), click the down arrow next to the green Add Contact button and choose 'Add & Edit Details' from the drop down menu. This will take you to the Contact's Edit Page.
