How to convert an internal referral to a deal

Converting an Internal Referral

At the point an Internal Referral is ready to be added to the pipeline, it can be converted to a deal.

Edit the referral that you want to convert to a deal:

The referral screen will change to the deal entry screen and prepopulate the related fields in the deal. Make sure to review all data and update as necessary.

  1. Update the Deal Name
  1. The Deal Lead and Other Involved Firm members will default to:
    1. Deal Lead - the firm member receiving the referral
    2. Other Involved Firm Members - the firm member that gave the referral
    3. These can be updated as needed

  1. The new deal status will be pending and any dates from the referral will be transferred. Please review the rest of deal attributes and fill in as needed.
  1. The referral service and value will populate in the Deal Components area. You can update the information here as needed.
  1. Once you have reviewed the information for the new deal, click the Save button.

Your converted internal referral will still be visible from the Referrals page with a new icon, but is also in the pipeline and can be found from the Deal Pipeline page and anyplace else deals are listed.
