Add a Company

There are several places throughout the system where you can add a company.

Ways to add a company

Each of these options allow you to add a company to your account:

The easiest, and best, way to add a company is the ADD COMPANY button in the top navigation bar.


The green Add Company button on the Companies page


On the short form when adding a new contact.


When editing a contact and linking the contact to a company.


On the form when adding a new deal.

Using the Form

The first two options above will open the default form for adding a company.

Tip:

  • Required fields have a red asterisk (*). The Add Company button will not activate until all required fields have been added.
  • Address is not a required field. However, you may notice that there is a red asterisk denoting it. This simply indicates that if you choose to add an address, the address label is required. 

Once the company information has been added, you have the following options:

  1. To create the company, click the green Add Company button.
  2. If you have multiple companies to add, click the down arrow next to the green Add Company button and choose 'Add & Start New' from the drop down menu. This will reset the form for you.

On the fly

The last three options in the list above (adding a contact, editing a contact's relationship, and adding a deal) are ways that you can add a company on the fly. If you need to add a company from one of these screens, type the name of the new company in the company field and select create new : [companyname] from the drop down. You will be prompted to select the appropriate industry and then click the Create Company button.
